Summer 2

This half term we are continuing with our Mexico theme and learning all about the Aztec and Mayan civilisations.

In history we are learning about the Aztecs and Mayans. We will be discovering who they were and how they lived. We will be looking at chronology and discovering how long ago they lived. We will look at the locations of the tribes and compare this to what we already know about Mexico.

In science we are learning all about light. We will be looking at and discovering different light sources. We will be looking at shadows and how they are created. We will also be looking at how shadows are formed from different types of material.

In RE we are looking at the story of creation and what different religions believe about how the world was created.

In maths we will be securing our knowledge of the four operations and revising time.

In English we are using the quality text 'The day the crayons quit' by Drew Daywalt as inspiration for our letter writing. We will be looking at informal and formal language and the structure of letters.

Art and DT this half term will support our understanding of the Aztecs and Mayans.
